Well, Brian O'Neill's visit this weekend was F U N! we walked and drank and ate topas, hung out with friends - even the crazy Irishman - joined us for some insanity. Friday was a very late night and it killed Saturday - but we managed to be out and about showing Brian the life of Madrid a second night - but quit at midnight.
today was great - we met up at 11:00am and walked to the market and the palace/cathedral - then had lunch - walked to Retiro - had beers by the lake watching the tourists and locals enjoy the beautiful day of sun.
I am very tired and have tons to do tomorrow before I leave for Valencia on Tuesday.
All this fun happy stuff is over shadowed tonight by the sad news i learned. My good friend Dan Wood, of about 25 years - died last week. He struggled a long time waiting for a successful liver transplant, that never happened.
He was a wonderful, warm, giving and special person - I will miss him a lot!
Cancers are aweful things and the treatments are not often all good - I hurts to see the pain and suffering people experience.
Keep smiling Dan ... thinking of you often.
