Miercoles 26mayo2010 a las mediodia

Hola:

Happy Birthday to my teacher bud - Peter - raging tonight and this weekend.

Anyway, I have been meaning to write for a couple days to share the weekend. Another banner good time was enjoyed!

Friday was an impromptu gathering. Paul, Taylor and I met up and headed to Robbie's place near Plaza de Castilla. First beers, then off to a special place for the menu del dia, for 13 Euros. Excellent foods and good people. After lunch the 4 of us met up with Manu (Robbie's girlfriend's brother) and the 5 of us grabbed some litre beers and then to the park to play ping-pong. We stayed until dark drinking and playing and laughing - it was excellent fun. Without light all we could do was return to Robbie's for Mojitos and chinese food - more shits and giggles, Manu's GF Ana and Robbie's GF Paula were there too.
But alas the metro has restricted hours and we headed back to the center and home.

Saturday - a slow start, but I went with the bike rental closest to home, near Gran Via metro - not bikes for the country, but I took it anyway. NExt time I will rent at By Bike.
Met up with Marcos, friend from Equador, and we rode over to Case de Campo. This is a very large trek of land southwest of the centre where the kings of old would hunt for sport in the 18th & 19th centuries. Now there is a lake, tennis courts; trails and roads in abundance; restaurants, prostitutes - you name it - it is likely to be there!
Marcos showed me where the Equidorians hang out selling various things, including food. So, we had lunch - Encebollado de Pescado, comida de Equador - very excellent and 5 Euros. Yum

I was out there in la sierra for about 6 hours - riding - walking - taking in the "sights" incredible.
But man my legs were soar after, it has only been 8 months since I rode seriously. Gotta buy a bike pronto!!

Sunday - quite day - spent more time with Marcos and was in bed by 12.30a -
Excellent weekend

Leaving Friday for Granada - 9 of us are going - more stories on Monday!
adios
beto

AWESOME day/night -
