Holly Crap - another month has gone by - Why?
Any way - life in Madrid continues to be going great!
Yesterday was the type of day that I would like to enjoy often and why doing this experience is so fantastic.
Yesterday, I slept in, once up and fed I cleaned the apartment (it was my turn) checked all the Facebook news and then headed out. Granted it was almost 15.00h, but I felt good about having accomplish stuff. The sun was out, there was a warm spring breeze and occasional drizzle. I started walking down Fuencarral toward Gran Via - I was going to the 9.95 All you can eat Buffet - I know, but it is decent food and cheap. However, on the way I passed a restaurant, I have walked by often, but this time I read there daily menu. Here in Spain Restaurants have Daily Menus that are 2 courses, plus dessert, and they include beverage and bread - all for one low price. Well at this particular restaurant it was 8.50 and one of the choices was Seafood Soup, which I love. I went in and had a lovely meal.
As I was exiting the restaurant I got a phone call from a special person - that was nice. Then I walked to Starbucks in Chueca. I know, I know - but, they are the only ones with outdoor seating at this time of year.
Once there, with my coffee, I worked on Spanish in the sunshine, fresh air and people watched - thinking how wonderful it is here!
Last night a large group of EBC graduates gathered for adult beverages in Lavapies. It was very nice, met new people and made a new friend from Canada. It turned into a long night - 3:30am home - but made myself get up at 9:00am.
Now that I am fed and Facebook is done - I think I will lesson plan in the park today -
Getting out doors and enjoying the weather and sights is my favorite way to spend a day off.
This coming week I only have one early class - Friday! This is good, i will have a nice week. Although I wish the one early morning was not Friday - because we are all going to San Sebastian on Friday for the weekend - CAN NOT WAIT!
well, better get busy ...
