dang - it has been since Monday that I posted - Hope you were not lonely.
It was my first full week of work in five months! Well, full in the sense that I went some place 4 days and will get paid. Not full time as in 40 hours. For teaching hours it is recommended we not work more than 25, due to prep time, homework reviews, etc.
I mentioned Marta - the wealthy socialite with whom I work on Monday & Wednesday mornings. She is very nice, beautiful home with 3 parlors, foyer, dining room and lots of art work - no doubt originals. I was greeted this time by a maid in uniform, whom I could hear setting the table for lunch while we worked. All too quaint.
The interview I had on Wednesday did pan out - it is one night per week, conversation only and little money for now; depending on how well it goes.
I interviewed on Thursday for an additional 1 to 1 with a young commercial pilot, he is brushing up on his English for an Interview next month. His family is also weathly - they have the entire 4th floor of the building, nicely decorated. He and I will meet a couple time per week and I am getting better money (should have asked for more).
Met with three people I know here, on separate occasions. One was an exchange of English for Spanish; the other was with an American who has been teaching here for 15 years, he offered to pass my CV along for tutor opportunities. The third is Maria Jose's friend who works for CO here in the sales office. Someone else to help with networking.
All in all - a good week - except
Lost yesterday, eat something gone bad on Wednesday night and Ihad to stay home yesterday all day - could not go job seeking. Feeling slightly better today - but still run down from not having eaten anything for 2 days - i just have been ... well you know.
