Sabado 2Enero2010 13.10h

Hola,

Where have a been? I swear I updated this thing since Tuesday - must be lost in the mail.

Tuesday night the 6 of us that are here went out for Canas (small beers) only we had dobles (doubles) for 2 Euros - Cheap - and Bocadillos (small sandwiches) for 1 Euro each. Very inexpensive night, but should have stopped at two. But I was a good boy - and was home by 11:00 - had to work at 10:30, plus make two calls to the states.

Wednesday night - nada -

Thursday - well - the world was celebrating so we had to join in. It was also Jessie's birthday - Peter & She had everyone over to celebrate the special day and the big evening. Lots of cheap beers. Then we took the Metro to Puerto del SOL; only we could not get close. It is like NYC, have to be there all day to be in the center of things - I for one am glad I missed being in the middle of everything. Watching the videos after is much more civilized. But we saw the fire works, drinking beers and acting silly. Photos prove it.

Whether for good or bad, I was not drunk and became the voice of reason; I do not always like this role - but then I do not have arguements over silly things, or toss my cookies on the street or other drunkin acts that were played out. All in all it was fun, but a few weird things took place, of course. Everone scattered to the winds at various times, directions and means. Three of us walked north, but i was determined to not walk the entire way. I waited 30 minutes for the bus that took 10 minutes - where is the sense in that? Was in bed a little after 4am.

There is at least one funny Bacon story - He looked Henry (from Bolivia) straight on and asks - "Are you sure your name is Henry?" If the man says his name is Henry - it is Henry; granted most Spanish speakers use Enrique, but Henry prefers Henry ...
John has many such silly statements since we met him in class. Unfortunately no one thought to write them down for the book.

On Friday I went to Maria Jose's and Carlos' house for lunch. As always it was excellent and greatly appreciated! Maria's mother was there as well.

Last night I was in bed early - today I slept until almost noon. Have plans tonight - low key.
Not much else - haev work to do and want to visit a museum
bye for now.
Beto
