Saturday 5DEC09 1:00pm

Hola:

Interesting week: Tuesday I had an interview at an Academia - they offered me a class, 3.5 hours on Saturdays for about 14 E / hour - not great, but this academy offers free language classes to their teachers. On Wednesday they called & said the class is being combined with another & they do not need me. He feels badly, so he they are still giving me the Language class!!!! very excited. Going over in 2 days to be evaluated and placed & pick a class to attend.
He still has the desire to hire me, just nothing right now - want to work there ... I am fairly certain.

Worked with 2 clients on Wednesday, one is a new client a pilot who has an interview on the 23rd. Worked with him again last night too.

Thursday no work - my Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays cancelled because one student had to drop out and we can not run with just 2 students. Lost 3 classes this month. But that is okay -
In the morning I went on an interview out in a western suburb and an hour later they called to give me 2 clients 1 to 1 in Madrid. They are both bank executvies, one meets M/W/F the other on T & Th - both at 8:00 am - yuck - but it is a steady class through to June. Plus the Academia agreed to give me the contract I need to work on getting a visa.
Then that night I had another nterview - an hour north by Metro, plus 15 min on foot, at a brand new school, mostly teaching children. I like their concept, but it is only 13E/hr - not enough to schlept all the way out there twice a week. Thinking I will wait for a better paying job.

Had two intercambios this week - trading English & Spanish. Friday ran around visiting the three academias I work for - picked up pay!!!!! worked with Manu, got paid. Now have enough for 2/3 of the rent or 1/3 rent and food = paying for stuff in Spain with Euros!!!!
If all holds, the week of the 14th I will have enough work to cover January's rent!! Cross fingers and toes.
Tomorrow some of us are going less than an hour outside the city to visit San Lorenzo del Escorial Palace. On Tuesday we might go to the mountains to hike.

Hope all is well over there ...
later
Beto
